Her work can also be viewed online at the Museum of Modern Art studio visit website.
Sheila’s latest mixed media series, Invisible Connections, explores the rich inner world of her dreams and memories. In the work she creates symbols and abstract images emphasizing color, line and shape and utilizes a variety of dyed, bleached, inked, painted and stained papers, as well as fabric and paper transfers, acrylic and watercolor paints, vintage threads and wine bottle caps. The result is a play between outer and inner expression. Her aim is always to capture a sense of wonder and yearning in the images.
Sheila is a M.A. graduate of New York University and lives and works in New York City and East Hampton, New York.
